It has been a very long several weeks. According to my wife, grammar conventions call
for a single space after a period. I
learned to double space after every period.
She says I learned wrong. Single
spaces are too crampy. I believe her
convention is awkward, and perhaps communist.
I think those fat cats in the Kremlin were keeping the extra spaces for
themselves, taking them to their dachkas up in the hills. And I suspect the Politburo skimmed some
periods off of colons, replacing them with the much less expensive commas.
