A Special American Anniversary Issue
By Mark Miner
Well, it is the 4th of July, 2007. Another year of existence for the American nation. Another year of division and wrangling about petty (and some important) things. Principle remains lost, pragmatism is slipping into hedonism, and the church in America languishes in affluence and indifference. Whoo.
But lest I seem excessively glum as to the prospects and position of our nation, I should point out that no government-sanctioned persecution of religion exists. Also, no genocide. No mass graves. No major human rights violations of any kind. Our
HDI is quite high, and yesterday the constabulary returned a firearm of mine that had been stolen in January. That's my kind of country.
Even more on the bright side, I Googled "mark miner" (no quotes) and
found Minerbrothers.com as the ninth hit! The ethereal ranking system
that is the Google has finally recognized my existence.
That's all I have today, and it's back to work tomorrow, so it's off to bed now.
Goodnight, America, and may you seek God's blessing in all you do.
