Well, it's 12:45 on Friday afternoon and getting going with this blog seems like a strong idea.  First, I think an introduction is in order.  My name is Matt Miner.  I'm 27.  I have a lovely wife, one daughter, and Miner Kiddo #2 on the way.  I work in finance and am in the midst of applications for business school to Stanford, Tuck, and Fuqua.

So far, I think I sound pretty boring (the type of guy women describe in movies as "a good provider"), so I'll move on from there.  I have two reasons for starting this blog.  First, I like to write.  I started my university career intending to major in journalism but switched to finance when it became clear to me that the path to supporting a family as a newpaper writer failed to intersect my timeline for getting married and having kids.  Second, I think there are not that many pairs of brother-bloggers out there, so maybe we will find a blogosphere niche.  You'll quickly realize that Mark is the smart one and I am the good looking one.

Basically, Mark and I want to do something in business together (so far, registering "minerbrothers.com" is the only thing we've done, and that cost us money, rather than made us money), but this blog is an attempt at a collaboration until we figure out what to do.  We're heavily influenced by Built to Last and I am a huge Drucker fan - now we need to translate these ideas into action.  That's where it gets scary for us salaried fellows.

It's 1:10 and time fire up Excel.
